Cosmetic Dentistry born out of necessity
While I do not care for plastic surgery it actually is because of the fact that I don’t require it and hope I don’t later on as well. But what I mean to say is that plastic surgery is revolutionary, it is a way for people to change the way they look, a way for people to fix the disfigurements they have been living with. More importantly it is a much needed medical procedure. The term plastic surgery includes specific types of plastic surgery such as reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, etc. One of the recent ones I have heard about is cosmetic dentistry. Cosmetic dentistry is like the name implies is a much awaited breakthrough for people with bad teeth and bad teeth placement.
Plastic surgery is also referred to as cosmetic surgery in case you were wondering why I referred to plastic surgery of the teeth as cosmetic dentistry. Many actors and actresses opt for the cosmetic dentistry procedure as they have to look good for their movies and whatnot. After all you have can’t have a hero with yellow teeth or misshapen teeth in today’s movies. Almost every other actor or actress has gotten a cosmetic dentistry teeth whitening done on their teeth or a cosmetic dentistry brace or even a cosmetic dentistry implant fitted instead, all so that they look their best for their next movie.
But people may need cosmetic dentistry because of valid problems that they already had like for example misshapen teeth or elongated jaw or even teeth growing out of places that they shouldn’t grow out off. Seeing people like them I am often surprised that they don’t opt for cosmetic dentistry and get the teeth fixed. I myself have been thinking of visiting the dentist and getting my teeth whitened or get crowns because due to grinding my teeth I have succeeded in destroying my tooth alignment. Meaning that while my front teeth align perfectly, the molars at the back have been shortened to such an extent that they don’t align if the front teeth align.
Many people often visit the dentist before getting married so that they can get their teeth whitened and or fixed. Yes, it is recommended you go to the dentist before your wedding because there is nothing wrong with looking good on your wedding day. But if you have a problem which requires you to get braces or any other time consuming and painful procedure then you should go a few weeks before the big day lest you run of out time and are left with incomplete treatment. Choosing a good dentist is also a pain in the royal behind if you know what I mean. After all the guy/gal is going to be hands deep in your mouth fixing whatever ails you so he/she better be good. You don’t want to be left with a crappy smile after he/she is through with you right. Another factor is that they should not cost an arm and a leg.
